Founder of A Hole in My Heart
Autumn is an honors graduate of Weatherford College, and plans to complete a Masters Degree in Faith Based Counseling. Already having an Associates Degree, she served as a Student Ambassador and Officer in Phi Theta Kappa as Vice President of Fellowship while attending. She also earned a Social Work Assistant Certificate through a completion course while attending Weatherford College.
Autumn has 2 children… one living daughter, Elaina, and one deceased son, Robert, as well as 3 step-daughters: Jennifer, Alisha and Jamie-Lynn, that she thinks of as her own. She is grandmother to 6 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
Robert regrettably lost his battle on this earth and went home to Heaven on April 22, 2006 due to complications related to his many disabilities. He was 14 years old and is deeply missed.
Autumn has been happily married to her best friend and greatest supporter, Scott, for over 23 years and reside in Weatherford, Texas. Robert was their only child together. The Ater's own a local family business and both do charity work within the community. Autumn has been a guest speaker at many benefits, including: Disabled Crime Victims Association, Crimes Against Children in Dallas and REACT of Weatherford Police Dept, as well as interviewed on Christian Radio, local News Stations, Cable TV shows, and in several magazines and some noted authors published works. Autumn is the author of an entire Chapter in “The Triumph Book” by Melanie Davis: www.thetriumphbook.com and she is currently in the process of writing a book of her own entitled “In God’s Special Place” which will be available shortly.
Recently, Autumn finalized a dream vision of 4 years inspired by her loss and that of other mothers and completed a project called “The Fountain of Tears”, which is a life size Statue of Mary holding Jesus atop a lovely fountain and a beautiful Prayer Walk of engraved memory bricks with the children’s names who have passed. It is lovingly placed at Praise Pavilion of Weatherford, Texas. The tear tracks on Mary’s face were a true gift from God himself and a must see for anyone.
A Hole in My Heart has become Autumn’s passion as she serves other mothers whose hearts are broken from the loss of a child or children with healing by word and deed from an awesome God… and with truth and confidence that He walks this journey with them.
