Alma has been attending and participating in activities with A Hole in My Heart Ministry since 2008, immediately following the death
of her daughter Rachel who passed of Leukemia at the
age of 8 years old. Alma has been a participant in
every way possible to the group, from attending
monthly meetings, special events, fundraisers, retreats
and more. She also brings with her the gift of being
Bi-Lingual which helps us to further meet the needs
of our Hispanic Community.
Alma initiated a special program at Cook Children’s
Medical Center over 3 years ago, and on each anniversary
of her daughter’s birth, she delivers gifts to children
on the Oncology floor. It is a great joy and pleasure for
Alma to add some light into these precious children’s
already darkened lives.
Serving on the board for A Hole in My Heart is just
another way for Alma to minister to hurting moms. Her
husband and their 4 children live in Weatherford,
Texas and enjoy attending church, spending time with family and the company of good friends. Alma’s eldest
daughter, Christina, also attends many of the functions
with her and both add a special and unique perspective
on loss.
Alma is known for her kind and gentle heart and will
be an added delight to this already growing ministry.
