Along with Autumn and Melinda, Debra Joyce
shares the ministries’ vision and mission.
A wife, mother, and grandmother,
Debra has spent her life dedicated
to serving
the Lord and focused on ministering to others
encouraging, nurturing, loving,
and standing by in times of need.
Tragically in March 2006, her oldest son,
age 31, Christopher was diagnosed with
Stage 4 cancer. That fierce spiritual and emotional battle ended on July 29, 2007
as he went home to be with
the Lord. Still grieving in November of 2007,
Debra
would again experience
loss in her
granddaughter Caley Breanna, delivered prematurely and living only 14 days. Debra
found
herself in desperate need, when a Vitas Hospice staff member told her about A Hole in My Heart Ministry.
It was at the First Annual Butterfly release in
September 2007 that
Debra was first introduced
to a group
who would understand her loss.
Debra has been married to her high school sweetheart, Ricky for over 36 years and
resides in Irving, Texas. They have 3
surviving children and 6 grandchildren.
Debra’s background as a stay at home mom, home-school teacher, civic volunteer and
church leader
and
a second
career as an administrative
professional prepared
her to serve others.
As treasurer, she brings these
skills to the board of
A Hole in
My Heart.
